IBPS PO Eligibility Criteria 2026
Candidates applying for IBPS PO 2026 must satisfy the official conditions related to age, nationality, educational qualification, and applicable reservation rules.
Nationality
A candidate must be one of the following:
- A citizen of India.
- A subject of Nepal.
- A subject of Bhutan.
- A Tibetan refugee who came to India before 01 January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India.
- A person of Indian origin who migrated from the specified countries listed in the notification with the intention of permanently settling in India.
Age Limit (as on 01.07.2026)
A candidate must be at least 20 years and not more than 30 years.
- Born not earlier than 02.07.1996
- Born not later than 01.07.2006
Age Relaxation

The notification also notes that the relaxation for SC / ST / OBC candidates can be combined only with one of the other eligible age relaxation categories where applicable.
Educational Qualification (as on 21.07.2026)
Candidates must hold a degree (graduation) in any discipline from a university recognized by the Government of India, or an equivalent qualification recognized by the Central Government.
The candidate must possess a valid mark-sheet / degree certificate and the final result should have been declared on or before 21 July 2026.
Candidates must enter their graduation percentage up to two decimal places in the application form. If CGPA / OGPA is awarded, it must be converted into percentage as per the rules of the university or institute.
EWS Rules
- EWS benefit is available to candidates not covered under SC, ST, or OBC reservation and whose family gross annual income is below Rs. 8 lakh.
- EWS candidates must produce a valid Income and Asset Certificate.
- The EWS certificate should be valid for 2026-27 for the financial year 2025-26.
