Technician Grade-I Signal & Technician Grade-III
RRB Technician Eligibility Criteria 2026
The RRB Technician 2026 notification prescribes separate age limits for Technician Grade-I Signal and Technician Grade-III. Candidates must also satisfy the required educational and nationality conditions before applying.

Age Relaxation
The same broad relaxation categories apply to both pay levels, but the resulting maximum upper age differs because the base age limit is different for Grade-I Signal and Grade-III posts.

Date of Birth Range
- For 18-33 years category: UR/EWS not earlier than 02.07.1993, OBC not earlier than 02.07.1990, SC/ST not earlier than 02.07.1988, and all candidates not later than 01.07.2008.
- For 18-30 years category: UR/EWS not earlier than 02.07.1996, OBC not earlier than 02.07.1993, SC/ST not earlier than 02.07.1991, and all candidates not later than 01.07.2008.
Educational Qualification
Candidates must possess the prescribed educational or technical qualification for the post as given in Annexure A of the notification and must hold it on or before the closing date,29 July 2026.
- Those awaiting final results of the prescribed qualification are not eligible.
- Diploma / Degree in Engineering will not be accepted in lieu of ITI / Course Completed Act Apprenticeship for Pay Level-2 Technician posts unless specifically stated otherwise.
- Graduate Act Apprentice will not be accepted in lieu of Course Completed Act Apprenticeship.
Nationality
- A citizen of India, or
- A citizen of Nepal, or
- A subject of Bhutan, or
- A Tibetan refugee who came to India before 01.01.1962 with the intention of permanent settlement, or
- A person of Indian origin who migrated from specified countries with the intention of permanently settling in India.
Candidates requiring a Certificate of Eligibility from the Government of India must produce it during Document Verification.
