RRB Technician Syllabus 2026
There is a separate CBT for each pay level in RRB Technician 2026. The pattern and syllabus are different for Technician Grade-I Signal (Level-5) and Technician Grade-III (Level-2).
Common CBT Rules
- Total duration: 90 minutes
- Total questions: 100
- Negative marking: 1/3 mark for each wrong answer
- Normalization of marks is applied for multiple shifts
- Minimum qualifying marks: UR/EWS 40%, OBC-NCL 30%, SC 30%, ST 25%

The syllabus covers General Awareness, Reasoning, Basics of Computers, Mathematics, and Basic Science & Engineering. The science and engineering part includes physics fundamentals, electricity and magnetism, electronics, and measurement basics.

The Technician Grade-III syllabus includes Mathematics, General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Science up to 10th standard level, and General Awareness on current affairs and important topics.
Medium & Shortlisting
- CBT questions are available in English, Hindi, and 13 regional Indian languages.
- CBT marks are used to shortlist candidates for Document Verification and Medical Examination.
- Candidates shortlisted for DV are called in the ratio of 1:1 against vacancies.
